Access Manager: Access Control Integration for Axxon One VMS

Introduced with ACFA 15.0, Access Manager is the software layer of access control in Axxon One — a module for comprehensive administration of credentialed access at sites equipped with access control systems. It manages the employee database and access rules, writes data to access control hardware, handles photo identification events, monitors the status of access points, and generates reports. In parallel, Axxon One synchronizes recordings from cameras associated with access points to access events, so operators can retrieve footage of any passage.

User and credential management

The platform includes a full user management module that enables organizations to configure access control logic for employees and departments. Administrators can build a hierarchical department structure, create profiles with photos uploaded or captured from a camera, define access schedules and permission levels, and manage identifiers — access cards and PIN codes. Photo-based credentials are available through compatible access control hardware and integrations. Role-based permissions separate operator and administrator functions. Weekly access schedules and basic presence-time calculations support access and attendance reporting. Advanced shift scheduling, lateness tracking, and workforce-discipline reports are not currently included.

For easier visualization and operational control, readers can be displayed on a map and organized into areas — the zones of a site linked to access points — with entry and exit readers listed for each area.
